More recently, what has debuted here is interesting, but not always earth-shattering, and may have already been aired on the Internet or otherwise come to pass without CES’s help. For example, the VCR appeared there in 1970, Satellite Radio in 2000, tablet computers in 2010 and consumer 3D printing in 2014. Since the first CES in 1967, it’s been the place where shiny new technologies were debuted to the public. In the first week of January this year, more than 4,000 companies there had exhibits for the show’s 170,000 attendees, and more than 20,000 new products made their debut. This is very timely, as it comes on the heels of the most recent Consumer Electronics Show (CES). I have a must-watch for you - on Wednesday, January 29, 2020, at 10am ET, Gartner is presenting its latest Hype Cycle for Emerging Technologies.
